My experience across these brands includes extensive teamwork in building John Pritzker's Two Roads Hospitality (formerly Commune Hotels and Resorts), as well as the beloved Joie de Vivre brand, and launching Pritzker's passion project, the Chicago Athletic Hotel.
During this time, I also created Thompson's distinctive brand voice and acted as Thompson's marketing and advertising creative director and brand copywriter on numerous websites, email campaigns, and more.
After Hyatt acquired Two Roads, I was invited to craft the brand narratives for numerous existing hotels and new properties within the Hyatt family in advance of their openings — such as Hyatt's Thompson Central Park New York, Thompson Denver, Thompson Nashville, and Thompson Austin, among others.
Evaluating the results of the acquisition, Hyatt anticipated that Two Roads will have brought them an implied multiple of between 12 and 13 times gross adjusted earnings.
I especially love partnering with hotel GMs and DOSMs to create captivating backstories that give each property a reason for being within its local community.
Painting vivid pictures of the guest experience and building excitement around new properties are too often overlooked as an opportunity to build excitement and forge connections with guests’ lifestyle aspirations and desires.
Overall, my work has touched on content strategy, creative direction, and copywriting for hotel sales and events collateral, email campaigns, advertising, and other digital marketing touchpoints.
